NS Údolí Kohoutovického potoka (Kohoutovice Stream Valley ET)

  • It leads through the reserve with the same name

  • Botanists have recorded the very endangered red helleborine, wolfsbane, lessor butterfly-orchids, martagon lilies, and bastard balm

This short ET with three info panels starts (or ends – you can go in either direction) at the Antonína Procházky stop.

It leads through 1.25 kilometres of the reserve with the same name as the ET with many protected plant species. In summer, the stream’s stone bed runs almost dry and there’s water only in small pools. After rain, the stream quickly rises and the water washes away the soil including large stones, making the valley ever deeper. At the bottom, the air is cooler than in the surroundings, which is welcome for the very endangered red helleborine growing there. Botanists have also recorded wolfsbane, lessor butterfly-orchids, martagon lilies, and bastard balm.
