Hosts the Brno 16 international short film festival
The last city-owned cinema is operated by TIC Brno
The cinema’s aim is to become a worthy counterbalance to multiplexes and a refuge not just for demanding filmgoers, but also for a wide range of people who look for a wider range of cinema. It also offers films for youths and students, seniors, and parents with small children. It organises a number of festivals, marathon viewings of television series, and programs dedicated to special topics. The most noteworthy of the festivals is Brno 16, one of the oldest international festivals in the Czech Republic.
The gallery and café, located in a remarkable interior in the lobby, are inseparable parts of the cinema. The cinema is managed by the Tourist Information Centre of Brno (TIC BRNO).
