A distinct atmosphere of a small, cosy club
A club and pub right on the edge of the city centre
Stára Pekárna (‘the Old Bakery’ in Czech) was established in 1999, and for the second time, actually. It was first established a long time ago (the building itself dates back to around 1896), when the building housed an actual bakery offering renowned bread and other baked goods, as opposed to the cultural nourishment it offers today.
The venue puts on concerts of non-commercial and niche genres on an almost daily basis. Jazz, blues, rock, groove, ethno, alternative, and various other music styles can be heard on its small, cosy stage. Visitors also come to see theatre performances, author readings, and vernissages of exhibitions of paintings and photographs.
