OHB: Lužánky Park

  • Lužánky, Brno

Lužánky, stretching over an area of 20 hectares, is the oldest public municipal park in the Czech Republic, the most important park in Brno, and a national cultural monument. After the suppression of the Jesuits in 1773, on 9 September 1786 Emperor Joseph II determined that the former Jesuit garden should be given to the citizens of Brno to establish municipal public gardens. The gardens were originally French in style; later, they were re-designed and remade into the free-flowing “natural” landscape that we know and love today. Now the park is looked after by the publically financed body that oversees the city’s green spaces – Veřejná zeleň města Brna, who cordially invite you to take a stroll in the park.
