Open House Brno 2019

OHB: Constitutional Court

  • Joštova 8, Brno

The monumental form of the Moravian Diet House (i.e. the former home to the general assembly of the Moravian Estates), which today hosts the Czech Constitutional Court, was built between the years 1875 and 1878 according to a design by Viennese architects Anton Hofft and Robert Raschka. It’s one of Brno’s most magnificent buildings, whose external features draw upon experience and knowledge of the Northern Italian Renaissance. Extensive renovation works have continued since 2014, sensitively restoring the building to its former nobility while taking into account its present-day requirements. Now you have an opportunity to take a look inside this remarkable building, and experience first-hand the magnificence of the architecture, the dignity of its history and the gravity of the law. Tours are suitable for disabled visitors.
