Saila, Kristo and Mai want better conditions on Finnish animal farms. Will they achieve real changes or is the meat industry undefeatable?
Ten years ago, Saila Kivelä and other activists shot illegal footage at animal farms. Their testimony about the conditions in which the animals live shocked many in Finland and beyond. For Saila, her activities subsequently led to a three-year legal battle. Her sister Mai chooses a different path in her fight for animal rights – she enters politics, which causes tension between the sisters. In addition to documenting the complexity of promoting changes in society, the film is the personal story of Saila, who refuses to come to terms with the fact that reality does not meet her expectations about justice. The directing duo of Saila Kivelä and Vesa Kuosmanen approach a painful theme with sensitivity and playfulness.
