FRANTIŠEK SKÁLA / TWO YEARS’ VACATION
26. 2. – 25. 7. 2020, Fait Gallery
Curator: Miroslav Ambroz
František Skála, who is mainly known for his material objects and installations, is presenting at the exhibition his paintings which were created during his two year stay on a deserted island. He drew his ideas and inspirations from the mythology, as well as of paintings of the original inhabitants. Figural canvases of non-standard shapes and bright colors, together with objects of various dimensions, reflect dreams, visions, memories, and other themes.
OLGA KARLÍKOVÁ / AT DAWN
26. 2. – 25. 7. 2020, Fait Gallery MEM
Curator: Denisa Kujelová
The interest in the recording of natural sounds and rhythms connects Olga Karlíková with the context of conceptual authors of experimental music, who were interested in connecting tones with artistic gestures. In the exhibition are presented records of bird songs from a large, systematically emerging set of drawings together in the combination with their probable artwork in the track recordings of singing specific birds.

The title of project refers to daily moments when we rarely encounter or easily overlook because they are subtle and “insignificant”. Through 8 microtales about imaginary dialogues between subjects and objects, we can hear humming of validated objects and think how much it is essential to feel remembered and appreciated by the others.
