At the 10th anniversary of the founding of the republic, Masaryk spoke mainly about the future. Kateřina Šedá will take the same approach to the 100th anniversary. She plans to use her project to present Brno as a city of new beginnings with new stimuli. The project will involve 959 single men and 959 single women. The celebration can mean something different for everyone, but everyone has agreed on a single essential thing: celebrating alone is no celebration.

The event belongs to the RE:PUBLIKA Festival.
In my work, I’ve long been focused on how to connect people based on the things that divide them. This method mostly connects people who’d otherwise never meet. I’d like to use the same method on a large scale at this event – connect people based on criteria other than what they usually use on online dating sites and focus on the principle of absurd coincidence, which is usually what connects partners naturally.
