26. May – 17. June 2018
sports in the past and today
To present nearly 50 sports, a stylish sport centre will be created at the Brno Exhibition Centre with such equipment as a pool, a gym, a boating and winter sport complex, and a Sokol and Orel training area. Try sports yourself, meet sporting legends, and vote for the largest sporting success of the century. You can also take part in the 2nd Československé všecyklistické hry (Czechoslovak All Cycles Games)!
The event belongs to the RE:PUBLIKA Festival.
The word “sport” originally meant pastime or amusement. In essence, sport is an escape from school or work responsibilities into entertainment and diversion. That’s why it’s important for the place presenting sport’s history and present to have a diverting, relaxing character. In addition to an overview of the goals, points, and race times of former and current athletes, we offer passive and active relaxation for the whole family with the chance to try selected sports in their historical and current forms.
