This year‘s 19th Queer Film Festival Mezipatra will be held on November 16-23, with subtitle „Beyond reality“.

A queer film festival organized by non-profit organizations Mezipatra and STUD. Every year, we introduce around a hundred Czech and foreign films centred around LGBTQ+ issues, and their creators. The films are apprised by a professional jury as a part of a prestigious international competition.

With the 19th year we want to step out of the limiting realm of reality and immerse ourselves in the world of imagination. We build on the last year‘s concept „Be your own champion“‚ in which we explored various expressions of individuality and emphasized the uniqueness of each of us. Limiting realm of reality won‘t be explored only by the heroes of our films, but also by ourselves. How much are we willing to go beyond reality?

In addition to a wide range of pictures, we have also prepared a substantial accompanying program for you. The entire festival will be unofficially presented on November 14 by the comic and audiovisual opening by sisters Motyčkové at Café Bar Scala. We will then open the doors of Scala on November 16th and we will not close them until November 23rd. The opening night itself will kick off with movie L’Animale, following with a magnificent party.

You can look forward to not only the famous unforgettable parties, but also the talks with youtubers, the instagram workshop or the queer movie pub quiz. But we also think about your physique, so you can stretch your muscles at the acroyoga workshop, during the morning run with Linda or just with a walk through Brno. This year we have also prepared a wild eighties party, right in the heart of Brno in the Tržnice in Zelný trh, which will be full of vibrant colors and visual patterns. Well, you‘ll have some tough decisions to make.
